"My Shame" by Carl Nyberg
I wanted to get chicks
Have adventures
Be a hero
I fucked prostitutes
Saw the world
And tried to do the right thing
Except when I didn't
When I kicked the Khmer waitress
Waiting for her tip
"The Spoons" by Carl Nyberg
The Suppo
Told the CO
The ship is going broke
Buying too much flatware
The Old Man shook his finger
At seventeen department heads
Suppo says too many
Are taking spoons for coffee
Dutiful department heads
Harangue chiefs and zeroes
Then a harangued zero
Sampling the mess
Noticed mess cranks
Rinsing trays
Food and flatware
Together down the drain
Nevermind, said the Suppo
Another Navy crisis solved

Re My Shame--and some of your other similar posts. Isn't this all just a bit too much? Wouldn't it be more constructive to write about how you are getting beyond this supposed shame, and beyond all this anger? You don't get to be angry because of your own behavior, and it sounds like you're trying to justify it by calling it shame, and all the time glorifying it.
